Flight delayed

Just to let you know that our flight from Taipei has been delayed by three and a half hours. This means we will all miss our connecting flights to Manchester. KLM will arrange alternative flights for us from Amsterdam to Manchester but as yet we do not know what time these will be. We will keep you updated as things develop.

On a positive note the students are all still in good spirits.

It's the final countdown....

Our final night is upon us. The last few days have flown by and regrettably we must prepare to leave Taiwan and return to the cold of Cumbria. There were tears yesterday as the students said goodbye to all of their new friends and at the realisation that we were nearing the end of our amazing trip.

We've had another few busy days, mostly visiting numerous Taiwanese schools around the county of Hualien and staying with our home stay families. The student have had a great insight into normal Taiwanese life and culture, and everyone was very sad to have to leave for our next hotel.

We have experienced many great lessons in the schools, such as:
Leather crafting
Bamboo bombs
Chinese drumming
Boxing
Hakka tie dying
Chinese paper cutting

We have had an amazing welcome at all of the schools we have visited and there will be more videos being uploaded shortly.

Earthquake

Hi everyone, just a quick message to say that we were not affected by today's earthquake but it was felt by the students. They found the whole experience amazing and were pleased to be able to say they had been there through it. Best wishes from Hualien :)
